here are a few things i have learned (or re-learned as the case may be) in the past 7 weeks since little man made his debut.
i have learned:
i can do a lot of things one handed and get better at it all the time
joe prefers to sleep on his side
when i have to go to the bathroom, that is when the phone rings, the dog barks and the baby cries
once i am up and going, i am fine, but the actual getting up part really sucks
i have an awesome, supportive husband who doesn't mind coming home after a long day of work to an exhausted wife in her ratty jammies, crying baby, mounds of laundry, and both a dog and trash that have to be taken out.
i have the best friends/neighbors a girl could ask for. i can't believe all the thoughtful baby gifts, delicious treats and meals and kind gestures that i have been the lucky recipient of lately.
mason thinks its okay to burp loudly at his leisure because we praise joe when he does
both of my kids are fascinated with poopy diapers. they want to be there for the "action," the clean-up, and disposal of the aforementioned. what weirdos!
my sweet tooth is back. during my pregnancy i craved salty and protein packed. now i'm all about the treats, chocolate and ice cream. sigh. this is not helpful for losing baby weight.
joe doesn't like the swing. AT ALL. and he rather dislikes his car seat. i'm not sure he is our baby.
few things in life are better than a freshly bathed baby in fuzzy jammies.
i could drink a citrus charger smoothie from orange peel everyday.
and finally, i've learned there are never, ever enough hours in the day to do everything i want and/or need to do, BUT as long as we are all dressed, fed and happy, i will consider it a success.
